New here?

We’ve all been “new” before.

Walking into any place for the first time can be intimidating. We would love to take some of the pressure off. If you’re curious about what to expect, we have an FAQ below to help with some of the big questions. If you’re still feeling unsure, you can click the button below to schedule a visit and we’ll make sure that you have someone specific to welcome you and sit with when you’re ready to come join us on a Sunday or at any of our upcoming events.

We meet every Sunday at 10:30am at 219 Bruce Street S.

Still not quite sure? You can also join us live or catch up on a previous Sunday’s sermon on our YouTube. Need more details? Click here!

FAQs

What can I expect on a Sunday?

When you arrive, there will likely be someone to greet you at the top of our stairs as you enter the sanctuary. That is our welcome person for the Sunday and you are welcome to ask them any questions that you might have. In the sanctuary, we have comfortable chairs as well as a small parent’s and kids area at the back with a couch and a small table where children and do some colouring or crafts. You can sit anywhere that there is an open space, No one is picky about “their” specific spot!

Our gathering begins at 10:30am, and on Monday Sundays it’ll start with some worship music, announcements, a scripture reading, there may be a specific children’s time and then a sermon from our pastor (children are invited to go downstairs at this time for our kid’s programming) before a final worship song. We’re usually done by about 11:30am.

Is there any special dress code?

We do not have any special dress code. You don’t need to wear a suit and tie or a fancy dress. Most people wear their everyday casual. clothes like jeans and a sweater or shorts in the summer.

Can I bring my kids? Is there programming for them?

We would love for you to bring you children! Generally, they join us for our worship time and then there is a Sundayschool program that runs concurrently downstairs that they’ll be invited to join. As a parent, you’re welcome to go down with them to check it out or to keep them with you upstairs if that’s more comfortable. Whatever is best for you and your family!

When should I arrive?

Our gathering begins at 10:30am so we’d recommend that you come a few minutes early as parking can get a bit tight some weeks. That being said, if you’re running a little late, no one will bat an eye (it happens to all of us sometimes). If there isn’t any parking available, you can park over at the school and walk over but we always try to keep some space for new folks so try our lot first!

Will I be singled out as a new person? / Do I need to participate in anything?

No, we will not single you out to embarrass you if you’re new! You may have a friendly person or two come and say hello or even invite you to sit with them. But, no one from the front will single you out in any way.

Is the church accessible?

Yes! If you struggle with stairs we have a chair list that you can use to get upstairs to our sanctuary. If you use a wheel chair or walker, you may have an easier time using our accessibility ramp around the back side of the church. Our primary bathroom on the main level of the church is also fully accessible.

Is this church affiliated with a specific denomination? What do you believe?

Yes! We are grateful to be a part of the Free Methodist Church in Canada. If you’d like more information about them and what we believe, you can find that on their website here: www.fmcic.ca/what-we-believe.

Is it okay if I’m not religious / unsure / or exploring?

Absolutely! Our mission statement is “bringing everyone one step closer to Jesus” there is no pre-requisite or starting point for that. We’re all on a journey and you are welcome to join us regardless of where you are in yours.
